Sleepy

I am sleepy right now.

Maybe it’s because of the weather; it’s been hot and humid recently.

Maybe it’s because I didn’t sleep well last night. My apartment is near a small road, and someone along the road had a loud phone call last night and woke me up.

Maybe both.

I tried to get rid of the sleepy feeling by drinking a big cup of coffee. It didn’t help.

Anyway, I am still sleepy and I just want to sleep on my work table for a while.

I decided to have a walk in the building and splash my face with some cold water.

* 1) Because both clauses are independent, using a comma would be considered a comma splice. Instead, one of the clauses may contain a conjunction such as and, but or, yet, etc. You may also separate the clauses with a period or semicolon
2) Since you’re speaking about an event that has and is currently occurring, been is used instead of getting, because getting implies a future action.
3) Sleep is more commonly used as a verb rather than a noun.

A change in myself

I noticed a change in myself this morning.

I was analyzing data with Tableau, a useful tool for data analysis. It was taking too long to upload the data. After considering for a few seconds, I switched to Excel to finish the work.

If this kind of thing had happened a few months ago, I would have felt angry and complained to my coworkers. But now, I think about the solution and go to the next step.

Maybe it’s because I have found that anger and complaints do not help at all, and they may cause some misunderstandings with clients.

What would you do?

What would you do if your friend shared some news that you thought was wrong?

In the past, I would have expressed my disagreement directly. But I’ve found that it might hurt my friends sometimes.

Recently I’ve just started letting it go if it’s not a big issue.

Not just because I love my friends, but also because I think it’s natural that everyone has different thoughts.

Last Saturday’s hike

As you may know, I went hiking on Saturday.

The trail was in the hills behind a small village. There were many waxberry trees on these hills.

They’re ripe now. The owners allowed us to pick some to eat because they don’t have enough people to pick fruit and it would be a waste to let the ripe fruit fall.

One of my friends was lucky to meet an owner just picking fruits, the owner invited her to eat the ripest ones.

I was a little jealous because I wanted to meet an owner to ask for a beautiful branch with fruit on it.

It was still a great hike. You can watch this video to see it.

If you have any suggestions about the captions, feel free to let me know.

* “Fruits” typically refers to many different kinds of fruit.
